“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?'”  And that sentiment of course makes us think of our valuable team of volunteers.

We’ve had some of the best conversations in the office this week about the impact that volunteers have on our organization.   The stories from people who participate or volunteer with Art & Creativity for Healing matter immensely to us.  We’d love to help you find your place to give back!

For instance, this month we had this tremendous group of girls come in from the Girl Scouts to pack up Healing Art Kits.  These kits will be delivered to CHOC Hospital’s Oncology Unit.  One of our fabulous new friends who was here to volunteer said she has actually received a Healing Art Kit when she was at CHOC.  Here she was in the studio with a group of her friends giving back.  Giving back to others who are in a similar situation as she’s been in herself, and bringing others along in the process. A full circle experience.  Check out some memories from the Girl Scout Troop 2901’s volunteer time:

As  St. Francis of Assisi, said, “It is in giving that we receive.”  We hear this time and time again, how by giving back, people impact others and are impacted themselves.  If you are looking for ways to give back through Art & Creativity for Healing, here are some way’s you can get involved:

HeARTs for Healing Women’s Guild

The HeARTs for Healing Women’s Guild is a compassionate, energetic group of ladies that serve as fundraisers and community advocates for our programs. They work hands-on with us throughout the year by volunteering in workshops and helping us with all aspects of our fundraising gala.    Our first meeting is Thursday, January 26th.  Do you like to have fun and help someone while doing it?  Contact us today for more information on joining and volunteering.

Volunteer Orientations

Orientations for volunteers are offered several times a year at our Laguna Hills studio.   Our next Volunteer training is: April 2nd, 2017.  We give you a brief history and overview of Art for Creativity and Healing, our mission, and who in the community we serve.  You’ll learn about  the different volunteer opportunities you can join in on. You will also experience the Art4Healing® method firsthand by participating in a mini workshop. Please wear clothing appropriate for painting—no art experience necessary!

Join us at our 17th annual Palette of Colors– A Taste of Barcelona Dinner and Auction Fundraising Gala!  This year will be held on Saturday, June 10th at the Lyon Air Museum Hangar in Santa Ana.  This incredible location backs right up to the John Wayne Airport.

All proceeds from this event benefit  Art4Healing®  classes and workshops.  Our workshops support emotional  healing through art &  creative expression for those living in pain, fear, grief or stress.  This includes those serving in the military, suffering from critical illness, at risk youth, and victims of domestic violence.
